NBA Stop Garnett From Purchasing Shares In AS Roma

It seems purchasing stakes in football teams is the in thing in the NBA!

Last year Lebron James bought a minority stake in Premier League minnows Liverpool (low blow I know but they are fxcking shite right now!) and it appears he started a trend.

In December the Boston Celtics’ Kevin Garnett attempted to follow suit and purchase a minority stake in Italian outfit AS Roma, but saw the move blocked by the NBA.

Sounds messed up right? One rule for Lebron another for everyone else? Well apparently the NBA believed there would be a conflict of interests if Garnett was allowed to do so as Celtics owner James Pallotta also own part of the Italian team.

A source in the league said:

“If you enter into a business agreement with the owner of a team that doesn’t involve playing service, there are potential problems.

“Maybe not in this case. But, there is a chance of, say, making a contract a lot larger.”

Sounds like some bullshxt to me, just trying to stop a brother from shinning (I’m well aware Lebron is black too, it just sounds cool!)
