Mr Nasty, Simon Cowell Is Coming Back!

Since Simon ditched the UK to start up X Factor in America, ratings here have decreased and slowly but surely the show is becoming a drag.

Richard Holloway, executive producer of the ITV1 talent show, has confirmed the 52-year-old music mogul will be making a comeback ‘in some guise, somewhere’ before the show’s finale this winter.

Speaking at the Edinburgh Television Festival, he added: ‘That’s all I’m prepared to say – it’s not a hologram.’

An average of around 8.1million tuned in to ITV1 for the first episode of this series– down more than 2million on last year’s debut, which attracted 10.5million.

It was the worst start to an X Factor series since 2006 and a dramatic contrast to 2010, when a record 11.1million viewers switched on for the first episode (the last series Simon was on).

End of the day, Simon Cowell makes the show more interesting. I doubt he’ll be in the studio in person, as he’s based in LA but I’m guessing they’ll be using the Skype feature a few times this series. Do you think the show needs Simon?
